LIMEN Step 3: The Concept Blueprint

A concise founder brief on the independently reproduced LIMEN Product concept artifact, what it explains, what it does not prove, and the next research move.

ACCEPTED PRODUCT CONCEPT SNAPSHOT · CONCEPT STUDY · RESEARCH ONLY · NO HUMAN TESTING · NOT AVAILABLE · NO DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM EXISTS

The eight-sheet package explains the proposed information flow, control boundaries, failure states, option classes, and non-biological research bench. It is an independently reproduced Product concept artifact—not a buildable neural implant blueprint.

The Answer First

  • Step 3Source: Bounded Integrator acceptanceFile: docs/review/evidence/novel-biotech-limen-concept-v1-step3-r2-2026-08-20/02-integrator-acceptance.md is accepted for its exact frozen bytes. Fresh Independent QA returned PASS with no P0–P3 findings, and the Integrator independently reproduced the package.

Concept artifact

  • We now have a coherent system blueprint at the concept level. Eight drawings connect the forward path, return path, state machine, mapping boundary, maintenance logic, evidence classes, and R0/R1 bench frame.
Source: LIMEN concept paperFile: docs/design-comps/limen/CONCEPT_V1/LIMEN_CONCEPT_PAPER.md

Answer-first concept, two paths, mapping boundary, option frame, Science import, R0/R1, failure behavior, maintenance, and verdict.

Still unresolved

  • We still do not have a physical-device blueprint. Electrode type, interface chemistry, signal ranges, circuits, components, connectors, power, communications, dimensions, materials, placement, tolerances, and lifetime remain unknown or unselected.
Source: Open parameter registerFile: docs/design-comps/limen/CONCEPT_V1/OPEN_PARAMETERS.tsv

Unselected or unknown Science, interface, signal, control, power, communication, maintenance, and governance inputs.

Next eligible move

  • The next move is evidence closure, not fabrication. Define the missing values and comparator case, then build only the synthetic R0 software contract before any non-biological R1 bench work.

What Product Design Actually Produced

The package turns the LIMEN idea into a controlled research architecture. The forward path separates sensing, confirmation, artifact handling, classification, and hand control. The return path separates encoding, local authorization, inhibit evaluation, abstract delivery, and post-delivery evidence. The package also defines fail-closed states, person-specific mapping boundaries, service and rollback logic, and a synthetic R0/R1 research lane.

Advisory review

Claude Opus 5Source: Read-only advisory review provenanceFile: docs/review/evidence/novel-biotech-limen-concept-v1-step3-r2-2026-08-20/03-advisory-provenance.md reviewed the scientific lineage and wording. GPT Pro reviewed deterministic drawing layout, mobile reading, QA rules, and the completed founder report in the Codex built-in browser. Product Design and the Integrator applied bounded corrections; neither advisory model approved its own work.

How the Concept Architecture Is Organized

The concept is layered rather than a single magical detector. It treats every transition as a separate evidence boundary and refuses to equate command, delivery, measured output, load response, or reported effect. The same discipline is summarized for every sheet below.

What the Current Concept Record Supports

  • The hard problem is signal identity over time. Amplification alone cannot prove that a weak signal is neural, meaningful, stable, or free of stimulation and motion artifact.
  • Direct ENG, muscle EMG, and combined sources must stay distinct. They are different evidence classes and cannot be presented as interchangeable.
  • A universal biological map fails. Reusable software infrastructure is plausible; signal meaning, calibration, nerve route, and return encoding remain person- and application-specific.
  • A second path is not automatically independent. It earns that label only after each SIG-057 dependency axis has accepted evidence.
  • Multi-year lifetime is still a requirement, not an achieved property. Chronic direct-ENG stability, repairability, reversibility, and upgradeability remain open.
  • The next eligible build scope is synthetic R0, subject to an accepted input contract. R0 can test deterministic provenance, state handling, abstention, quarantine, inhibition, and reproducibility without pretending to validate biology.

Why This Snapshot Is Accepted

Acceptance is based on the exact bytes, not on a worker summary or a screenshot. Independent QA regenerated the package twice, attacked the schema and label layout, inspected the PDF and SVGs, and exercised the reader at desktop and exact mobile widths.

At 390×844 and 320×568 the body matched the viewport, the 130% minimum-scale SVG stayed inside an internally pannable focus surface, controls were at least 44×44, all eight sheets and interactions passed, and warning/error logs were empty.QA §Render and browser evidence

Integrator reproduction

After QA, the Integrator independently repeated the snapshot identity, registry, accepted Science-input, generated-output, PDF, and built-in-browser checks before accepting only the exact Product concept bytes.

What Is Still Missing

This package intentionally contains no selected electrode, neural-interface family, amplifier, filter, ADC, stimulation stage, isolation topology, connector, cable, power system, telemetry system, enclosure, material, dimension, tolerance, anatomy, surgical placement, fabrication sequence, or biological protocol. It also does not establish neural decoding, sensory encoding, chronic stability, tissue compatibility, safety, efficacy, feasibility, novelty, FTO, regulatory readiness, or comparator superiority.

That is not a presentation defect. Those are the research questions that separate a concept from a real device.

What to Do Next

  1. Freeze the accepted Step 3Source: Novel Biotech program handoffFile: HANDOFF.md snapshot. Do not edit the accepted bytes under the recorded hashes. Any correction becomes a new revision and requires fresh QA.
  2. Close the missing engineering inputs. Science and Product must define source-bounded signal classes, artifact cases, comparator criteria, lifetime evidence, and falsification rules—without inventing biological working values.
  3. Authorize Backend R0 only after its accepted input contract exists. R0 is offline, synthetic, deterministic, and non-actuating. It tests the control logic, not the device.
  4. Treat R1 as a later non-biological bench program. Components, datasheets, calculations, isolation, power, connectors, and native engineering drawings require a separately accepted package before any purchase or assembly.
  5. Keep the biological device branch blocked. No fabrication, implantation, animal work, human work, or availability claim follows from Step 3Source: Novel Biotech program handoffFile: HANDOFF.md.

Verdict

STEP 3Source: Bounded Integrator acceptanceFile: docs/review/evidence/novel-biotech-limen-concept-v1-step3-r2-2026-08-20/02-integrator-acceptance.md PRODUCT CONCEPT PACKAGE: ACCEPTED.

NOVEL BIOTECH PROGRAM: REVISION. RELEASE UNAUTHORIZED.

The accepted result is useful: LIMEN is no longer only a verbal idea. It has a traceable, deterministic system explanation and a clear list of unknowns. But the final device remains a research objective, not an existing product or development-ready implant.
